PMMA
PMMA (Poly(methyl methacrylate)), better known as Plexiglas® and Altuglas®, is transparent and resistant. It is used in making signs, lighting strips, road signs and advertising, POS display cases, industrial components… PMMA can be screen printed, generally for window stickers (mirror printing) to add depth to the visual.
Compatible inks
Tiflex mainly recommends the following series of solvent-based inks:
- Polycolor three ranges available: Coloriflex system (compatible with Pantone®), OP range and quadri colours
- Selectacryl excellent lightfastness and compatible with Pantone®
- Urethal excellent resistance to chemicals and compatible with Pantone®
- Vinyflex very multi-purpose ink and compatible with Pantone®
Other series of inks are also used on PMMA. For example Plaxolor, Anti-fouling varnish (bi-component protective varnish), Glossy vinyl, Mat vinyl and UViprim PS UV-drying inks.
We recommend conducting confirmation tests under workshop conditions.
